General information

Madrid Chamartín Train Station is located in the north of the Spanish capital. The station lies parallel to the Paseo de la Castellana, in the district of Chamartín. Many commuters change at this station. It's smaller than the other large Atocha Station, but from here trains also leave for various destinations. There are for example trains with destinations in the northwest of Spain, like Santander, Santiago de Compostela and Bilbao, but international trains to Lisbon and Paris also call at Chamartín.

Transportation

Do you want to stay in Madrid and explore the city? There's a taxi stand outside the station, as well as a subway station where subway lines 1 and 10 stop. You can also take bus line 5. Or do you prefer to rent a car? Car rental companies Europcar and National Atesa have an office at Madrid Chamartín. There are plenty of parking facilities.

For any questions regarding the city, traveling or hotels you can go to the information desks. The ticket office is located opposite platform 19. You can also store your luggage and there are luggage trolleys. In addition, there are an exchange office, a bank, and a post office. You don't have to get bored while waiting at Madrid Chamartín Station: you can go bowling, go to a sports club, or go gambling.

Madrid Chamartín has a lot to choose from. There's something for everyone, ranging from fast-food restaurants and sandwich bars to places where you can dine sumptuously.
