Cape Town Airport in a nutshell
The second airport of South-Africa lies some 20 kilometres to the east of Cape Town. Every year the airport processes some 6 million passengers, a number that is expected to double by the year 2015. Cape Town International Airport can only be reached by taxi or car and it is situated along the N2 motorway to Cape Town.
Opposite the airport there are a number of hotels with an Internet connection. In addition, the airport houses a large array of shops, baggage handlers, banks, ATM machines, and there are wireless Internet connections everywhere.
In the aviation industry Cape Town is indicated by the abbreviations CPT (IATA airport code) and FACT (ICAO airport code).
