Los Angeles International Airport in a nutshell

Los Angeles International Airport is a large and busy airport in America with over 60 million travelers a year. The people of Los Angeles often simply call it L-A-X, after the airport code. There are nine terminals, and the airport is located 24 kilometres to the south-west of the city.

The airport does not have a train station, but there is a free bus service to the metro station. The route to the airport is clearly indicated. And there is a shuttle bus twice every hour between the city centre and the various airport terminals. Around the airport there are many hotels. In the arrival halls there are telephones that connect directly to the hotel of your choice. In addition, there are special desks for hotel reservations. Most hotels have a shuttle bus connection to the terminals.

Everywhere in the airport there are (snack) bars, coffee shops, fast-food and regular restaurants, and ice cream vendors. Los Angels Airport houses a large number of shops, including duty-free shops in all the terminals, with the exception of terminal 1. The airport has some business facilities in the departure halls. More extensive facilities are available at the hotels near the airport. The airport is very accessible to disabled people. In all the terminals there are banks, exchange offices and ATM's. In addition, there are children's play areas and a stillness centre. There are defibrillators in all the terminals.
