Alghero is located in the north-west of Sardinia. The airport is used primarily by budget airline Ryanair. Fertilia Airport, as this airport is called, is easy to reach by bus. These special shuttle buses are synchronised to the arriving and departing flights.
Although there are no hotels at the airport itself, there are plenty in Alghero and in nearby Sassari. Most hotels are situated along the beaches. There is a limited number of shops at the airport, and there are a few (snack) bars. In addition, the airport has the following facilities: ATM's, a post office and a gift wrap service.
