General information

Philadelphia is located in the eastern part of the United States and is the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia Central Station, 30th Street Station, is one of the busiest train stations in the United States. The station, which was inaugurated in 1933, handles almost 4 million passengers annually. From here you can easily reach Washington, Atlantic City, Chicago and many other cities in America and Canada, but regional trains also pass through this station.

Transportation

Do you want to visit the old center with Independence Hall and Liberty Bell or its surroundings? Apart from the train, you can also take the bus or a taxi. The station is also connected with the subway and the (trolley) streetcar also stops here. Or do you prefer to rent a car? There are several rental car companies at Philadelphia Station including Budget Rent a Car, National, Avis, and Alamo. Zipcar and PhillyCarShare can be found nearby the station. The station also has sufficient parking facilities.

Services

You can buy tickets at the ticket office. The station has a waiting room in Art Deco style, a lounge, an ATM, Wi-Fi, and facilities for the disabled; you can for example get everywhere in a wheelchair. Assistance with luggage is provided and you can also store your luggage.

Restaurants

There are several eating and drinking facilities at and around this impressive station ranging from sandwich bars to a French bistro. You can, however, also have an Italian dinner or get a quick bit to eat at a fast-food restaurant. Just to name a few: two Dunkin' Donuts, Au Bon Pain, Aunt Annie's Pretzels, Doc's Popcorn, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Subway, and Bridgewater's Pub.

Shops

There are several shops including a supermarket, a shoe shop, a souvenir shop, and a kiosk for reading materials like magazines and newspapers, and snacks.
