Abu Dhabi Airport is a very modern airport and one of the fastest growing airports in the world, based on numbers of passengers. In 2012 a third terminal will be inaugurated, the ultramodern Midfield Terminal situated between the two runways.
The airport is situated 32 kilometers east of Abu Dhabi's city center. There's no train connection between the airport and the city. There are however several bus connections, including express buses. The airport is quickly reachable by rental car via one of the three freeways leading to the airport.
As more airports in the United Arab Emirates the airport has a very extensive and luxurious shopping area. In one of the many restaurants you can choose between Arab and international dishes. The Airport Hotel has a business center and you can rent conference and meeting rooms in the nearby Airport Golf Club. There are also several VIP lounges. The airport has public computers with internet connection and there's a mosque in the Airport Hotel. Other facilities at Abu Dhabi Airport include banks, exchange offices, ATMs, and a post office.
