The airport of Salzburg is the third airport of Austria (after Vienna). In 2005, this airport processed 1.7 million passengers. It is an important airport for the winter sports areas of Austria. There are two terminals, although Terminal 2 is only open during the winter, and only on Saturdays, which most chartered flights land and take off.
There is no train connections to the airport. However, during the day there is bus to Salzburg every 10 minutes. The city is located at only four kilometres from the airport.
There are no hotels at the airport. There are a reasonable number of shops, restaurants and(snack) bars at this airport. The business facilities are limited. There are only two meeting rooms. The hotels in the surrounding area have more facilities. There are banks, exchange offices, cash machines and a post office.
