A little annoyed at being given wrong information from the agent on a.phone call in relation to obtaini ng an international driving licence despite my research saying I didn't need one for Italy she was insistent I did. A totally unnecessary expense and inconvenience for me.

This rental company are NOT located in the terminal, despite EasyTerra indicating that they are. This was a key reason why we decided to book with the company, so we feel duped by the website. The only drawback in our

The only drawback in our rental experience: To pick up our car, we had to carry our heavy luggages from the check-in office to the garage along stone-paved streets. The distance between the two locations was about 500 meters and it took more than 10 minutes to walk.

Florence Airport in a nutshell

The airport of Florence (Firenze in Italian), which is also known as Peretola Airport, is located not far (80 km) from the airport of Pisa, Galileo Galilei. Together, these two airports are the gateway to Tuscany, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Italy. In 2006, the airport had to expand in order to be able to handle the growth in the number of passengers. Currently, the airport processes 1.5 million passengers a year.

The airport is located 4 kilometres to the north-west of Florence and it is easy to reach by car. There is no train connection from the airport, but there are 60 shuttle buses a day between the airport and the centre of Florence, which is also where you will find hotels.

Florence Airport has a reasonable supply of shops, and there are a few coffee shops, (snack) bars and a self-service restaurants. The airport has a lounge that is open to all passengers, as well as a meeting room (max 10 people), which has to be booked at least 10 days in advance. Other facilities: banks, exchange offices, ATM's, a post office and a First Aid station.
