Toulon is situated in the southeast of France on the Mediterranean and is the largest city in the Var department. Toulon Station dates back to 1859 and lies at walking distance from the city center and the sea. It's about a 5-minute walk. Toulon is called at by the TGV Méditeranée in the direction of Nice and the north of France.
Do you want to visit the city or the coast? The taxi stand can be found just outside the station. You don't need to reserve a taxi. City buses also stop directly in front of the station. Buses which bring you further into the region stop at the bus station near the station. Turn left when leaving the station and you'll see the bus station after 200 meters. You can also rent a car at Toulon Station. There are four car rental companies on the square in front of the station. You can choose from Avis, Hertz, National, and Europcar.
There's an SNCF information desk inside the concourse. In addition, there are offices and machines to buy tickets for both regional and intercity trains. Toulon Station has a lost-and-found desk as well as restrooms, phone booths, an ATM, soft-drink dispensers, a passport photo booth, a photocopier, an AED, and Wi-Fi.
The restaurant is open daily from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. There's also a takeout restaurant where you can buy sandwiches. If you have more time available, you can find more restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity.
