General information

Toronto Union Station is an important railroad station in Canada. The monumental building in Beaux-Arts style was inaugurated in 1927. It's situated on Front Street in the city's business center. Several intercities run from Toronto to cities like Montreal and Ottawa. Do you want to travel in the direction of the west coast? The train to Vancouver runs three times a week, and stops at WinnipegEdmonton and Jasper. If you prefer to stay nearby, there are also regional trains by GO Transit. The station handles approximately 250,000 passengers daily. Toronto is Canada's largest city with over 2.5 million inhabitants.

Transportation

Do you want to go to Lake Ontario or visit the city? You can take a taxi, but the Union subway station is in the same building. The station is connected with the adjacent bus station of GO Transit on Bay Street by a covered footbridge. Shuttle buses run to Toronto Airport. Do you want to rent a car in Toronto? No problem; there are several car rental companies. Union Station also has a bike shed.

Services

You can buy tickets at ticket offices and ticket machines. There are information desks for the different train companies, but Air Canada is also present. You can store your luggage. In addition, there are a waiting room, a bank, ATMs, an exchange office, passport photo booths, and snack and soft-drink dispensers. There's Wi-Fi at the station and in the Panama lounge. The station also offers facilities for the disabled. 

Restaurants and shops

There's a limited choice inside the impressive central concourse, but underground you'll find a larger range of restaurants, shops, and cafés including several fast-food restaurants like McDonald's, Harvey's, Tim Hortons, and a Donut shop, but you can also eat sushi or buy an ice-cream at Dairy Queen. The Fairmont Royal York Hotel is located opposite the train station.
