Coolangatta Airport in a nutshell

Coolangatta Airport is the former name of Gold Coast Airport, the gateway to the popular beaches on Australia's east coast.

The airport is situated 20 kilometers south of Surfers Paradise and directly west of Coolangatta. There's no train connection with the airport yet, but there are plans to extend the so-called Gold Coast Line to the airport.

The airport is relatively small, but has a reasonable number of restaurants, cafés, (snack) bars, and shops. The shops are mainly geared towards the main activity on the beaches: windsurfing. There's one lounge, but it's only open to those flying with Jetstar Airways. For business meetings you can rent meeting space or conference rooms in the larger hotels and resorts on the Gold Coast. The airport offers wireless internet. Other facilities at Coolangatta Airport include ATMs, and exchange offices.
