Ankara Airport is officially called Ankara Esenboğa International Airport, after its location. Esenboğa means 'healthy bull'.

The airport is situated 28 kilometers northeast of the center of Ankara, Turkey's capital. There is no train connection with the airport, but (slow) city buses and (faster) shuttle buses run between the airport and the city center. Ankara International Airport is easily reachable by car from the beltway around the Turkish capital.

The number of shops at the airport is simply excellent and there are also several coffee shops, cafés, and restaurants. The terminal has three VIP lounges and you can rent meeting space for business meetings. There's also a conference room. Scattered around the terminal you'll find prayer rooms for Muslims. Wireless internet is available all around. Other facilities at Ankara Airport include banks, exchange offices, and ATMs.
