Really Easy to book and drive away!

The online reservation was very easy and clear what you get for it. Very pleasant and arranged in no time and not expensive! On the spot at Avis, the contract was signed and an extra driver was arranged very quickly so that we were in our car within 20 minutes and driving away. Nice new car, all the trimmings. When returning it went even faster, just park the car and after a short check we could take the transfer van to the airport. Really great and easy!

San Salvador Airport is officially called El Salvador Comalapa International Airport and is therefore named after the country, not the capital. It's also called Cuscatlán Airport.

The airport is situated 50 kilometers southwest of the center of San Salvador, El Salvador's capital. There are good bus connections between the airport and the city, but there's no train connection. Freeway RN-5 leads along the airport, making the airport easily reachable by car.

The airport is relatively small, but there are a good number of restaurants, cafés, (snack) bars, and shops, including a specialized coffee shop. There's a VIP lounge offering basic business services, but to rent meeting or conference rooms you need to turn to the nearby Rancho Estero Hotel, or the business hotels in the capital. Other facilities at San Salvador Airport are also limited: exchange offices and some ATMs.
