Verona-Villafranca Airport in a nutshell
The full name of the airport, which is located 12 kilometres to the south of Verona is Valerio Catullo di Verona Villafranca, although it is usually simply referred to as 'Verona-Villafranca'. It was originally a military airport, and the western part is still used by the Italian airforce. The airport cooperates with the airport Brescia-Montichiari under the name Aeroporti Sistema del Garda.
Verona processes two million passengers a year. The terminal building was not really built to handle this many people, which means that during the peak season there may be delays.
There is no train connection to the airport, but there is a bus connecting the airport to the station of Verona.
There are no hotels at the airport. There is a limited number of shops and (snack) bars. With the exception of some basic facilities (fax, telephone) at the service desk, there are no business facilities. In the arrival hall there are cash machines. The First Aid station can be called on by telephone. The terminal building is reasonably accessible to disabled people.
In the aviation industry Verona-Villafranca Airport is indicated with the abbreviations VRN (IATA airport code) and LIPN (ICAO airport code).
