The airport of Miami has recently been completely renovated. Piers A, C and D have been combined into the North Terminal (Pier B has been demolished) and Piers G, H and J into the South Terminal. In between there is a central area with Piers E and F, where all the airlines are located that do not belong to the Star Alliance, SkyTeam Alliance or OneWorld. The airport is located 14 kilometres to the north-west of Miami.
There is no direct train connection. There is a metro bus connection between the airport and the station. From the bus station on the ground floor of Hall E there are bus services to Miami and the surrounding area.
At the airport there is a hotel and there are many other hotels in the nearby area. It is a big airport with a huge and varied supply of shops and places to eat and drink. Most of them are located in the central area. Various airlines have Lounges where you can use various facilities, like: telephone, fax and Internet. In addition to meeting rooms (max. 12 people) there is a conference room (max. 200 people). There are banks, exchange offices and cash machines. Also, the airport offers the following services: a post office and hairdresser's, a shoeshine service and an art gallery. The First Aid station can be called via the VIP information desks. The airport is accessible to disabled people.
