Barcelona Airport is located 12 kilometres to the south-west of the Catalan capital. It is the second busiest airport in Spain, after Madrid. The airport processes more than 24 million passengers a year. The popular name of the airport is 'L'Aeroport del Prat'. Theairport has three terminals that are connected by pedestrian bridges.
The airport has an excellent rail connection to Barcelona, with trains departing every half an hour. There are no hotels at the airport, but there are a few hotels in the surrounding area.
