Menorca thanks its name to the fact that it is smaller than Majorca. Menorca is also much more touristic. There is a regular bus service on the main road of Menorca (Me-1), which connects the capital city Maó with Alaior, Es Mercadal, Ferreries and Ciutadella. There are sufficient taxis as well.
In the capital center and in popular tourist centers it can become very crowded. Besides that the streets are narrow. Nevertheless, a rental car is the ideal means of transport in Menorca. This way you can enter all small roads on the island and enjoy the undeteriorated nature and scenic villages.
Menorca has a good hotel offer. There are also some apartment complexes, among other places, near the only golf course on the island. Accommodation is usually not fully booked in Menorca, except for the summer months. In that period you should better book a room in advance.
