Pisa Airport is officially named after Galileo Galilei, an Italian physicist, philosopher and astronomer who was born in Pisa.
The airport is located at only 2 kilometres from Pisa, 20 kilometres from Livorno and 80 kilometres from Florence. It is the gateway to Tuscany, a popular holiday destination. The airport is located directed on the motorway, and it is therefore easy to reach by car and bus, and there is also an excellent train connection just outside the departure terminal.
