Christchurch International Airport in a nutshell
The airport of van Christchurch is the most important one on the South Island of New-Zealand. The airport is currently undergoing serious reconstruction, which will be completed in 2008. The International Terminal will be expanded considerably, while at the same time being integrated with the terminal for domestic flights.
There is no train connection to the airport. There are, on the other hand, various ways to get to Christchurch by bus.
At a five minute's walk from the airport is the nearest hotel. In both terminals there are many bars, cafés and restaurants. There is also a wide choice of shops. The Travel and Information Centre offers services like telephone, fax and copying. If you want to rent offices and/or meeting space, you should contact the International Antarctic Centre. In both terminals there are lounges of the airlines on the first floor. In the terminal building there are banks, exchange offices and cash machines. There are also play areas for kids in both terminals. The airport is very accessible to disabled people.
