Car rental Figari
Introduction
The Corsican village Figari is known for the airport. It is the gateway to the southern region of Corsica with the largest attraction, the fortress Bonifacio, situated high on top of a cliff, 80 meters above sea level. The old center has narrow streets and many roofed corridors. But also the nature of southern Corsica is impressive, especially the Aiguilles de Bavella, rocks that stand up straight like needles. Furthermore, the airport is used by people who have the seaside resort Porto Vecchio as final destination.
Population
Figari has more than 1000 inhabitants.
Location
Figari lies in the most southern part of Corsica, 43 kilometers southeast of Sartène, 20 kilometers southwest of Porto Vecchio and 19 kilometers north of Bonifacio.
Economy
The airport has added economic activity to this region, but the main source of income remains the wine.
Airports
The Airport of Figari Sud-Cors lies 3 kilometers northwest of the town. It is mainly used for flights to and from destinations in France. You can easily reach Porto Vecchio with a rental car, via the D859.
Public transportation

Traffic and parking
On Corsica there are highways, but no freeways. Keep in mind that the island is mountainous and the roads are windy. The highways are good, but on the secondary roads you might be surprised. It can also be very busy during the summer months in the centers of tourist towns.
Hotels
As a typical seaside resort, Porto Vecchio has no lack of accommodation. It is a popular destination for especially Italian tourists. In the summer months it is therefore recommended to book your hotel room or camping place well in advance.
