Los Angeles International Airport is a large and busy airport in America with over 60 million travelers a year. The people of Los Angeles often simply call it L-A-X, after the airport code. There are nine terminals, and the airport is located 24 kilometres to the south-west of the city.
The airport does not have a train station, but there is a free bus service to the metro station. The route to the airport is clearly indicated. Los Angels Airport houses a large number of shops, including duty-free shops in all the terminals, with the exception of terminal 1. The airport has some business facilities in the departure halls. More extensive facilities are available at the hotels near the airport. The airport is very accessible to disabled people. In all the terminals there are banks, exchange offices and ATM's. In addition, there are children's play areas and a stillness centre. There are defibrillators in all the terminals.
