Bordeaux is a city with many faces. It is a seaport located at 100 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, Bordeaux is a sophisticated provincial town. Public transport

Bordeaux is one of France's most important train terminals. The train station (three kilometers from the city center) and the city center are connected to the airport. The connection is made with a Jet'Bus bus. The journey takes about 45 minutes, and is available for people who do not want to rent a car. CGFTE is the bus company operating in Bordeaux itself. Both during the day and on busy nights, there are buses available in the city. There is also a recently built tram network, which continues to be expanded, until it will connect to almost all the interesting places.

Traffic and Parking

Driving in Bordeaux is not easy, due to its usually hectic traffic. Parking is also difficult: it is hard to find a place to park and if you do manage to find one, chances are you will have to pay a lot. Some parking tips: a street to the north of Musee d'Art Contemporain and to the west of Jardin Public. There are also hotels that offer parking, at about € 6 per night. In addition, there are large parking lots to the north of Esplanade des Quinconces and opposite the Place de la Bourse.

Hotels

The cheaper hotels, budget and mid-range, are very competitive and there are many of them. However, there is also a relative lack of luxurious hotels in Bordeaux. The quality in the cheaper segments may vary enormously, even within individual hotels. If you want to be sure of a good budget or luxury hotel, we certainly recommend booking in advance.
