Tours Station, or Gare de Tours, is situated on the Place du Général Leclerc right in the city center and dates back to 1846. The city is located in central France and is the capital of the Indre-et-Loire department. Tours Station is a terminus. From here you can take the train to for example Bordeaux, the east of France (TGV) and Le Mans. At Tours' other station, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, trains stop that don't end in Tours. Therefore more TGV lines stop here.

Buses stop right in front of the station on the large square. City buses stop opposite the station. Regional buses stop on the left side of the square, seen from the station's main exit. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
