Sometimes they go to specific destinations for a set rate, sometimes they use the meter. Make sure to agree upfront! From Arrecife there are ferry connections to the other Canary Islands and to Cadiz on mainland Spain.
Traffic and Parking
It can be difficult finding a parking space in the center of Arrecife. Parking is prohibited at curbs with a yellow or white line. A blue line means only paid parking.
Do not park in front of a garbage can. They are emptied round the clock and if you are in the garbage collector's way your car will be towed.
Hotels
The number of tourists on Lanzarote is limited and as a consequence also the number of facilities to stay the night. Arrecife has a number of hotels and guesthouses, but most people choose to stay in one of the vacation resorts outside the capital. In high season you need to book your accommodation.
