Venice Marco Polo Airport in a nutshell
Like most Italian airports, Venice Airport is named after a historic hero: Marco Polo. The distance between the city and airport depends on how you travel, by water the distance is 10 kilometres, by road 12 kilometres.
The airport does not have a train connection, by there is flyBus between the terminal and the Venezia-Mestre train station, as well as with the Venezia Santa Lucia train station. Venice can also be reached by car. And, of course, by water, for which tickets can be bought in the Arrivals hall.
There is no hotel at the airport, the nearest hotels are located in the suburbs of Mestre and Tessera. There are plenty of shops, including some that specialise in local products. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants. Real Italian espresso and cappuccino can be bought at one of the many coffee shops. In terms of business facilities, the airport has meeting rooms, small offices and conferencing facilities.
The airport offers the usual services, including banks, exchange offices, ATM machines and a post office. At various locations in the terminal building there is wireless Internet. In addition, there is a First Aid station and a sauna/massage salon.
In the aviation industry Venice Marco Polo Airport is indicated with the abbreviations VCE (IATA airport code) and LIPZ (ICAO airport code).
